What is Podcasting?
Podcasting is a simple way of delivering audio and video content directly to a user - it really is that simple.

Podcasting is a new content delivery method that breaks free from many of the pre-conceived ideas about how people consume media, radio in particular.
The provider delivers the media file from their web server, the server then tells the user’s Podcasting application when there's a new ‘episode’ to download. It then ‘grabs’ the audio from the server and automatically places it on the users media player.
Podcasting is about delivering a series of programes rather than one-off files, creating brand loyalty in a similar way to the 'appointment to view' philosophy used in television marketing, where people develop an allegiance to watching a programme at a set time, such as Coronation Street on a Wednesday.
Podcasting isn’t just about the iPod – in the same way Hoover has come to mean vacuum cleaner – the iPod has come to mean MP3 player. A podcast can be delivered to pretty much any device which plays MP3 files.
Podcasting isn’t just a buzz word - it’s a new way of empowering the user – a way of allowing people to manage the media they consume.
Because of this the user builds trust and loyalty to the brand - because it’s theirs - they listen or watch when they want to.
